Spring 1 Week 2

​We started our new Theme, “Turrets and Tiaras” this week. We dressed up as people from a castle. We had Lords, Ladies, Soldiers, a doctor and even a blacksmith! We made a medieval pottage and danced a medieval dance. It was a fun day.

Spring 1 Week 1

This week we have had a fun science week exploring sound. We heard lots of different sounds inside and outside.

We really enjoyed helping our Eco friends this week by doing a litter pick in the school. We couldn’t believe how much rubbish blows into our grounds.

We have learnt how to sew using a running stitch. We are making Christmas baubles to sell at the Christmas Fayre.

Dosbarth Cardiff had a magical time at Festive, the Christmas shop in Cwmbran this week. Of course, we did have a job to do-to find out how the shop works and what it sells. It was the most enjoyable work we have done this year! It has certainly given us lots of ideas for Enterprise work!

In Outdoor learning this week we talked about the different types of insects and bugs that can be found during the Autumn time. We learnt new information about slugs and that there are many different types. We had fun outside searching for different insects. We used identification sheets to find out the names of different slugs and snails.

Dosbarth Cardiff have been number crunching this week! We have counted forwards and backwards orally, on a number line and a hundred square. Then we calculated 1 more and 1 less of a number. Da iawn pawb!

After learning about how the Welsh flag came to be we created a flag to represent our school, using natural objects that we collected around the school grounds.

We had such fun heating materials this week so much so that we got to eat scrambled egg on toast (jam was available for those who didn’t like egg!).

Dosbarth Cardiff have settled beautifully into their new class. We have enjoyed getting to know each other and the classroom. We have been busy showing Mrs McCormick how clever we are.
